Getting Out Of The Office – Skiing In The UK – All Year Round (Mostly!)

Christmas has come and gone, spring hasn’t yet sprung and you may be feeling in need of a bit of a break from the office. If you fancy skiing but don’t fancy the cost of flying to Europe then why not stay closer to home.

Scotland may have the only outdoor ski centres in the UK, but that doesn’t mean there’s no action south of the border. In fact, there are some real iconic centres dotted throughout the UK – so whatever the weather, get your boots and goggles on and have a blast! Who needs the Alps?!


Getting Out Of The Office - Skiing In The UK 1Nestled in the Cairngorm National Park, Glenshee is the largest outdoor ski resort in Scotland, boasting 40km of runs.


The Llandudno Ski Slope boasts the longest toboggan run in the UK!


Dorset’s dry ski slope has the UK’s largest independent ski and snowboard retailer and workshop attached.


Nevis Range, just outside Fort William in the Highlands is the highest outdoor ski resort in the UK with 35km of piste to boost.


The Chill Factore in Manchester houses the UK’s longest indoor real snow slope at 180m. Plus the charity Disability Snowsport UK is based here.


The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead is probably best known to some as the place where the celebrities trained for the Channel 4 series – The Jump!
